Do you want to make this world more beautiful?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as the saying goes. Vanity applies to both sexes and we are all striving to look beautiful, well-groomed and presentable. However, the processes that are involved in this is not that simple. A combination of art and science created the processes and applications that we use today to achieve the beauty that we want.

Cosmetology is the study and application of beauty treatment encompassing the seven major disciplines of cosmetology. The major disciplines are shampoo technician, aesthetician, electrologist, hair stylist, nail technician, hair colorist and makeup artist. Each of these disciplines concerns just a fraction of the over-all beauty regimen. You don’t have to master all of the disciplines, you can concentrate on one or two and then you can have a little knowledge of the rest. Cosmetologists are more than just your ordinary hair stylist or manicurist. With the advancements in technology, cosmetologists have become acquainted with the current trends and style as well as the cutting-edge technology that goes with it. They should be able to transform their clients from regular to spectacular in one setting. Cosmetologists are the modern fairy godmothers of style and beauty. A professional cosmetologist must be able to understand the different client personalities and strive to provide the best service possible. She should be outgoing, personable, patient, does not mind standing for long hours and willing to work at nights or weekends. To become a good cosmetologist, first you have to have love of the profession and second, you have to get proper training and certification.A career in basic cosmetology can open doors to the more advanced and more lucrative professions in the beauty industry. You may also consider becoming beauty magazine consultant or editor, become beauty sales reps or be your own boss by opening a salon of you own.
